BCA'12-Badge
2012 Knot Award Web
Capital Style Award 2012

We are stepping out of our comfort zone and going straight to the good book for this one.

We are really excited that we’ve received several awards. These awards are based on votes, ratings and over all reputation in the wedding community. We are proud of our small business and even more proud of how we use it in our community. We also know that the demands are high and quality is way more important than anything else.

Being held in high regard is not something anyone should ever get comfortable with as there’s always room for improvement. With that, we’re always striving to serve our customers better. We will continue to only accept work we can comfortably handle and never over book. This will ensure the level of excellence each customer receives.

With that said, we feel truly blessed to have been recognized and thank all of our customers for that. We are going to turn this good news into the fuel we need to serve even better this year.

Above all, none of this is possible without the leadership of a great team. Faith is our foundation and we will never lose sight of that.

Holidays are here!

The Christmas parties are in full swing. Businesses are getting back into it. We are having a blast.

Last week Brian was jamming with Maryland Eye Associates. They were a fun group. Thanks to Melissa Cherry for getting us again this year. We love DJing for these folks.

James rocked the good people at Kelly Generator. The Annapolis Marriott was bouncing on the docks that night. Mrs. Kelly put together some cool gag gift ideas and the employees jammed the night away. Kelly Generator is right here in Calvert. They have an amazing product line as well as service.

Doug rocked the Yacht club at Herrington on the Bay for the annual Herrington Harbor Marina Staff party.

People are getting into the holiday spirit and the month is just getting started. Thank you to our customers for having us at your event. We thoroughly enjoy when local businesses support each other.

Being Thankful

We are definitely thankful to have the opportunity to serve as DJs. We are happy that we can do things in the community as the result of such blessings. When you stop and think about it you have to ask yourself what good is doing anything if you can’t give it away sometimes?

At Crow Entertainment we encourage everyone to never take your talents and blessings for granted and to sometimes give freely for the building of others.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and cherish the moments with your friends and your family. Be thankful for your enemies as well. You will be the only one thinking of them on this day.

We are thinking of you today and we are thankful that you are part of who we are.

Home Movies / Memories on DVD

Over the next few months we are digitizing photo albums, restoring old photos, transferring your old home movies to DVD and creating slide shows.

The bulk of our work will be from January through March. During this time we are going to take those old 8mm films your grandparents made for you and put them on DVD and do a lot more. On some projects we will set it up so you can pick and choose what clip you want to watch by adding menus. All projects will be custom designed and made to last.

We use a solid waterhield disc for the master copy. With this type of disc the ink we use to print directly on the disc will not fade, smear or wash off. We pack everything in a DVD case and custom design the inserts and jacket. It takes on the appearence of a regular commercial DVD.

Every project is different. Get in touch to see  how we can help you. These projects make for great gifts.

Huntingtown High School – “Hopecoming 2011″

“Hopecoming 2011″ (Huntingtown HS Homecoming recap)

DJ’s Brian & Kenny
Lighting: Ryan “Sparks”
Production Manager: Don “Wattz”

It was a full house and the temperature was up in the gym. Everyone danced the night away to the sounds of Brian and Kenny. That and some serious school spirit, the gym was loud. Thank you to Top Hat Party Rental in Huntingtown for the generator. We plugged into that for the night because the power situation in the gym was not good. We were happy that Donald was there and quick on his feet for a fast switch from regular power to the Auxiliary power. We were down for less than a minute. Totally embarrassing but stuff happens when you’re trying to give it your all. The students were forgiving and back to dancing in no time.

GEAR shirts were thrown to the crowd as part of the show. GEAR apparel is also available online.

We played a song called “The Wop” and the Varsity Cheerleaders showed everyone how to do the dance.

HTown is definitely a school with lots of school spirit. The atmosphere seemed friendly and the staff was very helpful. This school threw a nice party and didn’t go with a typical theme. It was “A Night To Save A Life.” In other words, “Hopecoming.” The gobo light shined a ribbon symbolizing the fight against cancer while the balloons that were grouped into a huge ribbon were strapped to the ceiling. It was awesome.

Big thanks to Rachel Dove for providing pictures for the slide show and to all the students who texted positive messages to the screen for other students to read. The school did a great job.

Party Rock Anthem – Megan & Jason 10-22-11

Photographer: Kirk Davis
Officiant: Al Gilliam
Herrington Manager: Brittany Bergendal

The most popular bridal party entrance is “Party Rock Anthem” by LMFAO. It’s one of those songs that never gets old and keeps giving back. Megan and Jason’s wedding started off with that and it was a sign of things to come; great things! From start to finish, the guests were enjoying themselves. This group loved to dance. We started with “Party Rock” and went into “Sexy and I know it.” At the end of the night we went full circle as the crowd demanded some fist pumping! LMFAO did it for us again. Here’s how it all went down.

The music for the ceremony was a mixture of traditional wedding pieces and movie soundtracks. The Bride processed to an acoustic version of “Just the way you are” by Boyce Avenue. The wedding ceremony was officiated by Pastor Allan Gilliam from Christian Fellowship in Baltimore.  Everything seemed spot on. The recessional was also selected by Megan and it was cool. It was “I Do” by Colbie Collait.

The entrance was hype and they went right into the 1st dance. They chose “When you got a good thing” by Lady Antebellum. There were some toasts by the Best Man, John and Maid of Honor, Angela, with a classic twist on who would have the upper hand from  now on. It was done very well. Dinner was awesome with Prime Rib and Herrington’s famous Horseradish sauce and their perfected Chicken Chesapeake. Brittany from Herrington ran the event smoothly and took care of business.

The lighting we used at Herrington was a light blue to compliment the table linens. Placed evenly apart, the blue up lights provided the mood Megan & Jason were looking for. The UV glow over the cake and dessert table worked well as finishing touches.

I worked with Kirk Davis Photography. They are out of Towson, MD. He produces television commercials but has a passion for photography. He had worked for the family at least 2 other times. He took some photos of the lighting as well. I’ll update this blog when those pictures  arrive. Kirk was easy to work with and I can’t wait to see the photos.

This event was fun. After the reception the group headed over to Mangos to unwind. We packed up for the next event and headed home. Congratulations to Megan and Jason. We had a blast.

The Chesapeake Beach Resort & Spa was on fire when David & Chrissy came out to do their rendition of the Dirty Dancing classic.

The crowd went crazy when David faked everyone out when Chrissy ran into his arms for a lift.  It made for a fantastic ending.  Everyone loved it.

This crowd was on fire and the dance floor was packed. Uninhibited dancers are the best!!! The requests came in and they were all right on. DJ Brian Crow played continuous music and kept it high energy.

We worked with Abby Grace Photography. Abby was so cool. She captured a lot of photos that night and they truly tell a story. You can check them out on her blog by clicking here.

Every season we have clients who are in tune with what their guests want. They rely on us to provide a wide selection of music and to create a fun atmosphere. Thank you Chrissy & David for letting us do what we do. Your event is one we won’t forget.

The Kent Island Yacht Club was “bumpin” as CJ Curtis would say. DJ Brian Crow played a wide variety of tunes for the crowd. David and Michelle were more focused on their guests having a great time and it worked out perfectly. The crowd was nice and the requests were great.

We enjoyed working with Lyn at the club. She took care of us with a fantastic beef and Crab meal with an awesome side salad.

Briana from Nouvelle Weddings made sure everything was on schedule. We enjoy working with her and her team.

The photographer that evening was a gentleman by the name of Brian. He was pleasant and easy to work with. I don’t have a link for him just yet.

The ceremony took place outside near the water. Though it was windy, it worked out great because of the direction of the wind that day. We played some regular wedding music and added a twist at the end thanks to Michelle. She is a big “Grease” fan. I’ll leave the rest to your imagination.

Donald, our production manager, brought some lighting for the dance floor and made sure everything was up and running on time.

I had a great time tonight at Holly & Matt’s wedding at Herrington on the Bay. The lighting that Holly chose set the mood. They had a pretty cool sunset wedding ceremony on the Polynesian Bridal lawn.  I worked with Darrin Farrell from Images Photography. The flowers were done by Lillie Barret. Lillie doesn’t have a website but she does have a phone number. It is 301-855-7829. Here are some pics from tonight.
