It was an awesome day for a wedding. Destiny and JB had perfect weather as they started their new life together. The event took place at Mount Airy Mansion in Clinton, MD. The music for the ceremony was a mixture of traditional classics. We were given the freedom to choose the songs. Destiny and JB exchanged vows and just like that, the ceremony concluded.
We were off and running to the reception. Dinner was provided by Pineapple Alley Catering and it was delicious. After dinner it was time for the important dances. Destiny chose “Bless the broken road” as her and JB’s 1st dance. Afterwards, she danced with her dad to “I loved her first.” JB kept the Country genre going with “That’s what Mamas do.” That was pretty much the only Country music that was played because once the dance floor was open, we went straight into dancing. It was pure energy with songs like, “The Wobble,” “Yeah,” “Get Low,” and classics like “It’s Tricky,” by Run DMC. The music spectrum went from Hip-Hop to Pop to Jersey style fist-pumping music. This crowd was there to party and they did it well.
The photographer, Sonny Wink, got a lot of shots and was running around getting everything he could with his cameras. He misses nothing. Working with Sonny is fun. We know exactly what to do and it’s like we read each other’s mind. That’s when you know you have a good team. In fact, it adds to the fun of the event when vendors are into their work and enjoying it at the same time.
The fun continued with an encore request of “Shots” and our friends, LMFAO with their party hits. We wound down to the crowd singing along to Journey’s “Don’t stop believing” and everyone said their goodbyes. This event is one I will never forget. I had a lot of fun.
Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. John Boyd

The inspirational room at the Hall at Huntingtown sat a 100 plus guests who watched Brittney & Evan exchange their vows. The ceremony was officiated by Xina Raley. Brittney processed to Canon in D and before you knew it, we heard the instrumental of “All you need is love.” After that, it was off to the reception in the very next room. The reception was green and white with subtle accents near the head table. Once the overhead lights were dimmed the atmosphere and tone were set.
Jen, from JLabelle Photography, captured all the moments flawlessly. A slide show played on the large screen and all the flat screens in the hall while the music played. The bridal party was on fire as they entered the hall to “Party Rock Anthem.” Coming in and doing their first dance as husband and wife worked seamlessly with the introductions as they danced to “I Do” by Mark Wills.
The best man kicked things off with his toast to the couple followed by the Uncle of the Bride who provided the blessing of the meal.
Carole, from the Hall, worked tirelessly on organizing the event. Everyone enjoyed the meal provided by Dreamweaver’s Catering and was fueled up and ready to party.
Everyone from the kids to the grandparents of the bride were dancing the evening away. “I loved her first” was the Father Daughter dance selection and seems to be pretty popular for weddings over the last couple of years but always feels brand new when you play it at weddings. Evan escorted his mom to the dance floor to the song “Moon River.” This classic is perfect for originality and most likely was selected to honor some of the older guests. A perfect choice.
The cake cutting was fun and I’m sure Jen from JLabelle captured some crazy shots. There was a small war going on at the cake table but not overdone. “How Sweet it is” was the song choice and it was the perfect length to transition into the next fun event. The bouquet and garter event was fun and tasteful. It made for a nice transition into open dancing. The Bride & Groom chose the theme to the movie “Dirty Dancing” as their last song and everyone sang.
At the beginning, the Ring Bearer Ty, had lots of energy. By 7pm he was tuckered out and too sleepy to request his favorite LMFAO song.
This event was fun, pleasant and was set up perfectly by the Hall. Both families enjoyed their time together and the DJs, that’s us, had a blast!
Congrats to Brittney & Evan

Wedding season officially begins today as we turn our clocks forward tonight! 2012 promises to keep us very busy. We’ve been working closely with our vendors and venues to make sure that the level of excellence this year is beyond our customer’s expectations.
This occupation is fun and very rewarding. There is a moment during someone’s event where you can truly see that you’ve made a difference. In silence and in humility you look on and keep up the good work. You know you’ve done well and you’re sure to get a referral. Life’s little rewards are not always in the form of money. Depending on your perspective, success is not measured by your wealth. Instead, it’s measured by your achievements. In other words, it’s what we do to make everyone else’s life better. To us at Crow Entertainment, that’s how we measure success.
A wedding day is a work day for us but something completely different for a bride. At Crow Entertainment we own that vision and condition ourselves to be ready to serve every week. For us, we are prize fighters because we don’t see failure as an option. We come out of the corner swinging.
This kind of energy, drive and attitude is what every client who books Crow Entertainment can expect. We will do everything we can to make sure your wedding rocks. Now, if you’ll excuse us, we think we heard the bell.
Bring it on 2012 – We are ready!
We are stepping out of our comfort zone and going straight to the good book for this one.
We are really excited that we’ve received several awards. These awards are based on votes, ratings and over all reputation in the wedding community. We are proud of our small business and even more proud of how we use it in our community. We also know that the demands are high and quality is way more important than anything else.
Being held in high regard is not something anyone should ever get comfortable with as there’s always room for improvement. With that, we’re always striving to serve our customers better. We will continue to only accept work we can comfortably handle and never over book. This will ensure the level of excellence each customer receives.
With that said, we feel truly blessed to have been recognized and thank all of our customers for that. We are going to turn this good news into the fuel we need to serve even better this year.
Above all, none of this is possible without the leadership of a great team. Faith is our foundation and we will never lose sight of that.
The Christmas parties are in full swing. Businesses are getting back into it. We are having a blast.
Last week Brian was jamming with Maryland Eye Associates. They were a fun group. Thanks to Melissa Cherry for getting us again this year. We love DJing for these folks.
James rocked the good people at Kelly Generator. The Annapolis Marriott was bouncing on the docks that night. Mrs. Kelly put together some cool gag gift ideas and the employees jammed the night away. Kelly Generator is right here in Calvert. They have an amazing product line as well as service.
Doug rocked the Yacht club at Herrington on the Bay for the annual Herrington Harbor Marina Staff party.
People are getting into the holiday spirit and the month is just getting started. Thank you to our customers for having us at your event. We thoroughly enjoy when local businesses support each other.
We are definitely thankful to have the opportunity to serve as DJs. We are happy that we can do things in the community as the result of such blessings. When you stop and think about it you have to ask yourself what good is doing anything if you can’t give it away sometimes?
At Crow Entertainment we encourage everyone to never take your talents and blessings for granted and to sometimes give freely for the building of others.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and cherish the moments with your friends and your family. Be thankful for your enemies as well. You will be the only one thinking of them on this day.
We are thinking of you today and we are thankful that you are part of who we are.
Over the next few months we are digitizing photo albums, restoring old photos, transferring your old home movies to DVD and creating slide shows.
The bulk of our work will be from January through March. During this time we are going to take those old 8mm films your grandparents made for you and put them on DVD and do a lot more. On some projects we will set it up so you can pick and choose what clip you want to watch by adding menus. All projects will be custom designed and made to last.
We use a solid waterhield disc for the master copy. With this type of disc the ink we use to print directly on the disc will not fade, smear or wash off. We pack everything in a DVD case and custom design the inserts and jacket. It takes on the appearence of a regular commercial DVD.
Every project is different. Get in touch to see how we can help you. These projects make for great gifts.

“Hopecoming 2011″ (Huntingtown HS Homecoming recap)
DJ’s Brian & Kenny
Lighting: Ryan “Sparks”
Production Manager: Don “Wattz”
It was a full house and the temperature was up in the gym. Everyone danced the night away to the sounds of Brian and Kenny. That and some serious school spirit, the gym was loud. Thank you to Top Hat Party Rental in Huntingtown for the generator. We plugged into that for the night because the power situation in the gym was not good. We were happy that Donald was there and quick on his feet for a fast switch from regular power to the Auxiliary power. We were down for less than a minute. Totally embarrassing but stuff happens when you’re trying to give it your all. The students were forgiving and back to dancing in no time.

GEAR shirts were thrown to the crowd as part of the show. GEAR apparel is also available online.
We played a song called “The Wop” and the Varsity Cheerleaders showed everyone how to do the dance.
HTown is definitely a school with lots of school spirit. The atmosphere seemed friendly and the staff was very helpful. This school threw a nice party and didn’t go with a typical theme. It was “A Night To Save A Life.” In other words, “Hopecoming.” The gobo light shined a ribbon symbolizing the fight against cancer while the balloons that were grouped into a huge ribbon were strapped to the ceiling. It was awesome.
Big thanks to Rachel Dove for providing pictures for the slide show and to all the students who texted positive messages to the screen for other students to read. The school did a great job.

The most popular bridal party entrance is “Party Rock Anthem” by LMFAO. It’s one of those songs that never gets old and keeps giving back. Megan and Jason’s wedding started off with that and it was a sign of things to come; great things! From start to finish, the guests were enjoying themselves. This group loved to dance. We started with “Party Rock” and went into “Sexy and I know it.” At the end of the night we went full circle as the crowd demanded some fist pumping! LMFAO did it for us again. Here’s how it all went down.
The music for the ceremony was a mixture of traditional wedding pieces and movie soundtracks. The Bride processed to an acoustic version of “Just the way you are” by Boyce Avenue. The wedding ceremony was officiated by Pastor Allan Gilliam from Christian Fellowship in Baltimore. Everything seemed spot on. The recessional was also selected by Megan and it was cool. It was “I Do” by Colbie Collait.
The entrance was hype and they went right into the 1st dance. They chose “When you got a good thing” by Lady Antebellum. There were some toasts by the Best Man, John and Maid of Honor, Angela, with a classic twist on who would have the upper hand from now on. It was done very well. Dinner was awesome with Prime Rib and Herrington’s famous Horseradish sauce and their perfected Chicken Chesapeake. Brittany from Herrington ran the event smoothly and took care of business.
The lighting we used at Herrington was a light blue to compliment the table linens. Placed evenly apart, the blue up lights provided the mood Megan & Jason were looking for. The UV glow over the cake and dessert table worked well as finishing touches.
I worked with Kirk Davis Photography. They are out of Towson, MD. He produces television commercials but has a passion for photography. He had worked for the family at least 2 other times. He took some photos of the lighting as well. I’ll update this blog when those pictures arrive. Kirk was easy to work with and I can’t wait to see the photos.
This event was fun. After the reception the group headed over to Mangos to unwind. We packed up for the next event and headed home. Congratulations to Megan and Jason. We had a blast.
